History
Gurney Slade Memorial Hall
The current Memorial Hall was built by villagers to replace the original hall in 1991. We are so grateful to those hard working village folk for the wonderful facility we enjoy today. It represents a huge cummunity effort to have raised so much money and worked so hard to build this hall.
The original hall was built in memory of those villagers who bravely gave their lives in two world wars for us to enjoy the freedom we have today. The new Memorial Hall continues that gratitude of service.
The hall is built on land gifted to the village, as is the adjacent playing field. The playing field has fantastic facilities managed by the Parish Council. It's a space that is enjoyed by hundreds of kids who come from far and wide to enjoy the rides, slides and grass areas.
